In cultures across the globe, a tea house serves a multitude of purposes as a place to gather, eat and of course drink tea. Beyond all that, a tea house is both a sanctuary and organism for togetherness, conversation and community care. It is within the walls of a tea house, over a pot of tea, where kinship is forged, culture and stories shared, and ideas and inspiration are transformed into action.

Community Tea Service

We offer Community Tea Service everyday on a sliding scale donation basis. Every week we will have 2 teas of the week which will be on free pour. We invite our community to come and share these two teas any time during our opening hours. Guests are encouraged to pull up a chair, enjoy the music, choose a record to play, read a book from our library, stay for conversation, and of course share some tea.

Community Supported Tea Service

Our Community Tea Service is a drink-what you-want offering with suggested donations starting at

$5-$8-$10 sliding scale/person, cash or venmo

based on how much you would like to drink and how much you are able to pay.

Donations for Community Tea Service help us cover our costs and keep the lights on. A sliding scale system also allows us to continue serving individuals in our community who are unable to pay due to financial hardship.

Pay-It-Forward

These three donation tiers are not set in stone and are suggested merely as a template. We encourage you to decide what you think you should pay based on how much you've had to drink.

For those of you who are "financially comfortable" and can afford to pay for "wants" in life, we suggest you pay the middle or higher tier so we can continue to serve all members of our shared community, regardless of financial capability.

In essence, as a community we keep each other nourished.

No one turned away

Simply put, no one will be turned away for lack of funds at Community Tea Service. All are welcome and all are welcome to share tea.
